REQUIREMENTS
• Formulation Development: Research, develop, and optimize rubber compounds/formulations based on customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal performance targets.
• Material Selection: Identify suitable raw materials (e.g., rubbers, fillers, curatives, etc.) based on product requirements, cost-effectiveness, and availability.
• Testing and Analysis: Ensuring physical and chemical testing of rubber materials and products, including mechanical properties, aging characteristics, rheological properties, and cure analysis, etc.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with quality standards by conducting regular inspections, audits, and analysis of rubber materials, processes, and finished products.
• Process Optimization: Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize rubber processing methods, including mixing, molding, and curing, to achieve desired product attributes and production efficiency.
• Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to rubber materials, processing, and performance through root cause analysis, experimentation, and process improvements.
• Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams (e.g., production, sales, customer service) and external stakeholders (e.g., customers, suppliers) regarding rubber-related inquiries, troubleshooting, and product/application recommendations.
• Research and Innovation: Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements related to rubber technology, and actively contribute to the development of new products, processes, and technologies.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of experiments, test results, formulations, and technical reports. Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to management and other relevant parties.
• Team Handling and managing of all activities and functions of Rubber Division.
• Manage Rubber Mixing & Testing activities within the defined/specified parameters.
• Ensure availability of raw rubber, chemicals and rubber compounds as per production schedule.
• Redressal of noncompliance issues related to rubber compounds during the production process.
• Perform feasibility study by reviewing Customer drawings, performing reverse engineering of the samples and advise suitable material grades for NPD.
• Maintain laboratory inventory of in-house stocks, reference standards, chemical reagents and consumables.
• Ensure smooth functioning of all instruments related to Rubber Compounding & R&D Lab. including their AMC and Calibration Status.
• Perform all third party testing activities (viz. Invite Quotation, Prepare CSQ, Prepare & Sumbit Sample, Follow up for Test Report, etc.) from NABL accredited Labs.
New Project Management:
• Ensure to maintain rubber compound and its properties as per material specification mentioned in customer’s drawing.
• Provide appropriate solutions to the customers as per their requirements if there are changes in materials and/or their properties.
• Lead & Supervise trial runs of the new compounds/new moulds beside setting parameters such as time, temperature, input weight, etc.
• Plan research activities and resolve procedural issues to accomplish the trial runs on time.
• Review the rubber compounds through ODR, viz ts2, tc50, tc90, ML, MH.
• Coordinate with Purchase Team and Raw Material Manufacturers to arrange Rubber & Chemical samples for New Compound Development/Improvement of Existing Rubber Compounds.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Candidates having Post Graduate Course in Rubber Technology (PGDIRI) from Indian Rubber Institute are highly desirable.
• Experience: Min. 10 Yrs. working in the rubber industry or a related field, preferably in rubber compounding, materials testing, or product development.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of rubber materials, compounding techniques, and processing methods. Proficiency in rubber testing equipment and methodologies. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Analytical Abilities: Ability to analyze and interpret test data, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose effective solutions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis, documentation, and presentation (e.g., MS Office, ERP, Statistical Analysis Tools).
